Ø Provide a mechanism and structure for alumni and friends to make tax deductible contributions for RHS scholarships

Ø Listing on “The RHSAA Wall” in the High School for $5,000 or more

Ø Unless otherwise requested, all contributions will be held in endowment funds with earnings being used for RHS scholarships

Ø RHSAA is a charitable 501(3)(c) organization thus all contributions are tax deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes.

1. Bill Held Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Bill Held Memorial Scholarship Fund has been initially established by the immediate family and numerous friends of Bill Held after his untimely death in late 2006. Bill was an outstanding RHS athlete and a graduate of CSU. He was one of the founding members of the RHS Alumni Association and was instrumental in promoting, fund raising and generally “doing what ever it takes” to move the organization forward.

2. General Scholarship Fund

This is a general scholarship fund is for: a) non-designated contributions from alumni and friends, b) existing scholarship funds established by individuals desiring to transfer the administrative and award responsibility to RHSAA, and c) individuals and families desiring to have memorial contributions made to a general memorial scholarship fund.

3. The Fern C Breninger Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2001 by Steve and Carolyn Breninger to honor Fern Breningers' belief that education was an important aspect of life.  Originally funded from a wedding gift presented by RHS staff, each year an applicant has the opportunity to receive a $500.00 scholarship, and receive another $500.00 if they maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA during their 1st semester at college.  The 2009 recipient is Bobby Schlagel. Previous winners include 2008 - Mayra Soto, 2007 - Andrew Ohlson, 2006 - Catie White, 2005 - Brennan Proctor, 2004 - Eric Martin, 2003 - Janelle Wadas, and 2002 - Heather Judson.

4. More funds will be established when there is interest
